AILEEN LUGA - STA. ROMANA

Aileen Sta. Romana, (if or memory serves us right) is married to a Valera. She is the daughter of Ruperta Luga and Celestino Sta. Romana. Ruperta is the sister of Marina Luga-Cimafranca (from La Libertad, Neros Oriental) Legia Luga-Zita (who now resides in Cebu), Tita Raquel, Emilio and Rodolfo, who were children Emilio Valdez-Luga, Sr., whose father was Gen. Mateo Noriel Luga. Most of Aileen's sister and brothers now resides in U.S., except for her other sister Merriam, a Medical Practitioner.

COL. ALAN LUGA & FAMILY

It's been too long since we haven't met Col. Alan Luga. Like his father the General, we don't usually see each other and if ever we meet, its rarely in five or ten years and for just an hour or two, even less. Yet, we just hear each others name through friends and the community. The name Luga are well respected. They always leaves a mark. We just come and go from one place to another all over the country - then just hear words . . . Oh! your cousin has been here . . . there . . . and everywhere! LOL! Mabuhay! the last time we have a gathering was in Tits May-May Somoza's place.

Regards to the people in BOHOL! (It's been too long since I haven't been in the mountains in Bohol, Carmen, Pilar, Ubay. The province may have been well developed nowadays. I don't know what happens to the seeds we planted over there, the trees, corns, paddies and the people.)

GEN. EMILIO S. LUGA, JR. & FAMILY

If there is one General who is well respected by his enemies, who became his friends (in Mindanao), warriors who became rebels because of ideology - yet, still maintains the respect of their former leader - in times of peace or in war, maybe, its none other than this General . . . Emilio Somoza Luga Jr., then commanding General of the First Infantry "Tabak" Division, a home to the First Scout Ranger Regiment, the Grandson of the Great Tribal Warrior, General Mateo Noriel Luga.

In the picture were Tita Virgie, Irwin with wife and Alan. Irwin is present active in preaching the word of God as a pastor, after his stint in the military.

THE LUGA SURRIGA CLAN REUNION IN U.S.

Manong Elmer Luga Surriga

MEANWHILE! We were surprised to hear from a cousin whom we have not heard of for years. Almost 40 years ago. Most of us, who are TECHIE, like our cousin Mala Jean, were still crawling (not this writer, who might have not been born yet . . . LOL!) since we met him. He has this thick glasses, who used to stay away from the crowds to read his books . . . a nerd (pardon me for the term, but it pays! He is an Engineer and has that brains!). Indeed, the bloodline of the great Ibanag Revolutionary is already spreading across the Globe. Yes! We used to call him Manong Elmer, who might have been older than my late sister Realyn. Manong Elmer, married to Mary Paguntalan was the son of the late Captain Eugenio Luga Surriga whose mother is Nida Salud Rivera. His father is the offspring of Pilar Luga married to Justo Surriga. Pilar was the daugther of the late General Mateo Noriel Luga. I learned that Manong Elmer is presently doing a project on Geneology. One of the best GENEOLOGY PROJECT I ever encountered in the net was that of my cousin's project on my mother side, the RODRIGAZO's. It takes years of researching, but it pays. I don't even know how our cousin on my mother side did it. Maybe our cousin Mala Jean, on the father side, can start the ball rolling at ANCESTRY.COM. The Surrigas migrated in United States. They also holds regular clan reunions. Thank you Mala!

LUGA SURRIGA IN U.S. ARMED FORCES

THE FAMILY OF CAPTAIN EUGENIO LUGA SURRIGA IN U.S.

It has been said that the Luga lineage have produced five generals and a number of officers in the military and civilian service serving not only the Philippine government but, in other nation as well. They are, one of those.

We hope that they can send us information concerning this pictures through Mala. Thank You!

RENATO CAÑIZARES FAMILY

We do not really know how to to introduce the Renato Cañizares Family and the names of his children. Manong Rene, I guess, is the brother of Lenny, the doctor whose mother is a Luga the sister of Tito Mateo(if we are not mistaken) correct us if we are wrong . . . due to faltering memories because of age but not our hearts). They now live in U.S. As to where? Pardon us, we hope that they can supply us more information, which they can sent to Mala. Thank you!

LUGA CLAN GRAND HOMECOMING

(Clan Reunion of the family of the late General Mateo Noriel Luga on 1935 in Sagay, Negros Occidental, before he left Negros Island intending to visit Tumauini. He, however, succumbed to cancer and died in Manila. His comrades in the Katipunan paid their last respect and carried him to his tomb. He was said to be buried somewhere in Paco, Manila, known only to her daughter Maria Luga-Ferer, who was killed by the Japanese Imperail Forces during World War II.)

In preparation to the 2010 Grand Homecoming of the Luga Clan in Tumauini, Isabela, we shall be featuring the old restored pictures of General Mateo Noriel Luga his family, including all his relatives here and abroad from their old mementos to the new ones including those with Luga lineage all over the world. We also started a LUGA FAMILY TREE PROJECT (double click here. . .), a ancestry.com where the invited contributors may update the family tree (this shall be a joint effort of everybody).

We also would like to engage in a project to restore your old pictures, which we can resent back to you ready to print, for anyone who wish to order via internet for a fee (just to cover the electricity cost and to raise fund for whatever project that we shall have in mind.) We can also design and develop blog sites with graphic designs for those who have businesses to promote their product and services.

For the time being, we would like to invite everybody just to send in their pictures (old or new ones) to Mala Jean, with relevant information so we can publish the same in this site (double click here . . .).
